Angelina Jolie was here …

Cambodia, Angkor Wok and The Killing Fields

Bill Hercus.co.uk

From luxury hotel to The

Temples of Angkor Wok and

the Killing Fields

Cambodia provided by far the most memorable parts of

our SE Asia visit. The Killing Fields proved a stark

reminder of what this country had experienced in recent

history when 1.7 million educated professional people,

by and large, were slaughtered out of a total population

of approximately 6.5 million. Our guide had been forced

to watch torture as a young boy as part of his training

for future ‘employment’. The amazing Angkor Wok and

surrounding temples defy description here. Hanoi also

reminded us of recent history and we saw wedding

preparations - done a week or two before the wedding -

that was different.
