Interested in photography and sailing ...
This site will be a bit of a rambling object where I may test out new ideas, practice web site creation
(a sort of sub hobby) and generally communicate to friends instead of relying on the ubiquitous
Facebook or emailing the large files which may be necessary to do justice to decent photographs
(should I ever take any!)
I was a very luck chap really, applying for pilot training in the mid 60’s when the RAF were
undergoing one of its rare post war expansion periods.
Yes, very lucky indeed! All jet training in those days until one gained one’s wings - then on to a
real aircraft with reciprocating (radial, sleeve valved) engines - the Vickers Varsity - before a first
tour on the mighty Shackleton.
From thence to instructing (those that can do ...etc.) before a final RAF tour on the Mighty
Hunter (Nimrod).
My civil aviation experience is just too varied and interesting to cram into a few lines ... perhaps
another day.
Now happily retired in Moray where I am waited on hand and foot by en excellent spouse, too proud
to make her husband work much! Thankfully.
I have two successful sons, one in London and the other in Calgary. Thank the good Lord for
Skype!
